The Premiere Art Zine On Cuba

We publish CubaSeen a bilingual art zine that presents imagery by Cuban and American artists. It creates opportunities for collaboration – giving voice to the truths that emerge when visual artists from different cultures interact in meaningful ways:

  • In-depth photo and visual essays by both Cuban and American artists
  • Curated images submitted by artists who have visited Cuba
  • Short-form narratives in English and Spanish

Why We Publish It

In addition to showcasing stunning imagery, the goal of CubaSeen is to share positive messages about Cuba-U.S. relations during this time of strained relations between the countries:

  • Forming friendships that come from engaging with fellow artists
  • Cross-pollinating creative ideas
  • Debunking myths that citizens of our two countries hold about each other

CubaSeen is pro-engagement but otherwise apolitical and exists at the intersection of both governments recognizing the value of artists connecting across national boundaries.

We’d love to see it. Really!

We publish annually with an open call for submissions in the Spring. If you have photography, images of your original 2-D or 3-D artwork, or short-form written essays about Cuba, then please do submit it for consideration in our next issue.

And, no, you don’t need to have traveled with us or participated in any of our workshops or events. We enjoy seeing creative work about Cuba and encourage you to join our conversation.

If you are interested in submitting to CubaSeen, just sign up to join our email list. You’ll be among the first to know when submissions are open. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
